Performance Analysis of Weaned Piglets at CV. Rembu Tedeng, Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara

The performance of post-weaning piglets refers to the period when the piglets no longer nurse, and this period is important to monitor because growth occurs during this time. The aim of this study is to assess the performance of piglets after weaning. The observed piglets come from ten sows of Yorkshire, Duroc, and Landrace breeds. This study focuses on weaning litter size, weaning weight, daily weight gain, and post-weaning mortality. The research results show that the average weaning litter size for Duroc pigs is 9.4±2.2 piglets, Yorkshire 7.4±2.5 piglets, and Landrace 8.7±1.9 piglets; the average weaning weight for Duroc pigs is 7.7±0.3 kg, Yorkshire 5.7±0.6 kg, and Landrace 6.9±0.1 kg; the average daily weight gain for Duroc pigs is 1.4±0.1 kg, Yorkshire 1.3±0.1 kg, and Landrace 1.2±0.2 kg; and the post-weaning mortality for Duroc, Yorkshire, and Landrace pigs is 0%. Based on these research findings, it can be concluded that the highest average weaning litter size is found in Duroc pigs and the lowest in Yorkshire pigs; the highest average weaning weight is in Duroc pigs and the lowest in Yorkshire pigs; the highest average daily weight gain is in Duroc pigs and the lowest in Yorkshire pigs; and there are no piglets that died after weaning.
