Abstract

The Bali cattle business development program can be achieved by utilizing resources optimally and appropriately that are adjusted to natural conditions, socio-economic conditions of the local community, infrastructure, developing livestock technology and current government policies. This research was carried out in Compang Dalo Village, Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency for approximately two months from April 7 to June 5, 2025. The method used in this study is a survey method, using 42 Balinese cattle. The parameters measured were body measurements consisting of shoulder height, body length, chest circumference and body weight. The data collected in this study was then tabulated and analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis and body weight data was calculated using the Lambourne formula. The results of the study show that the characteristics of Balinese cattle breeders in Compang Dalo village in terms of the age of farmers are in the productive age with the proportion of age between 40-49 years the most, namely 52.38%, only educated in elementary school (SD) 47.62% with experience in raising Balinese cattle ≤10 years 91.90%. Balinese cattle that are kept semi-extensively have an average daily body gain index of 0.18 kg per day.
