Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of the profit sharing system on the purpose of beef cattle rearing in Pong Leko Village, Ruteng District. This research was carried out on May 2 - June 7, 2024, located in Pong Leko Village, Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency. The sample used was 20 beef cattle breeders. In sampling, the method of combining survey with direct observation in the field is the method used in this study. The data analysis used in this study is using quantitative analysis. The survey results showed that all respondents had direct experience with the profit-sharing system, showing wide penetration in the farmer community. Most respondents (75%) felt that the system provided adequate incentives for them to take good care of their cows, and only a few respondents were dissatisfied with the profit sharing or other conditions in the system. Although the majority of respondents (80%) felt that the system provided justice in the distribution of results, there were still a small percentage who felt the opposite (20%), indicating variations in perceptions of fairness. In addition, most respondents (55%) see an encouragement for cooperation between farmers and other parties, but there are still 45% who do not feel the same. Although the majority of farmers (95%) have had a positive experience with the system, there are still a small percentage (5%) who do not feel that way. These findings show the need for improvements in the profit-sharing system to improve incentives, fairness, and cooperation between parties, in order to improve the welfare of farmers and the sustainability of the beef cattle farming business in Pong Leko Village.
