A Value, Rarity, Imitability, and Organization (VRIO) Resource-Based View Analysis of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Maggot-Based Feed Products

Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots offer a sustainable and nutritious alternative to traditional animal feed. This research aims to evaluate the competitive advantage of BSF-based feed using a VRIO analysis to identify its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. By understanding the unique qualities of BSF-based feed, this study to provide recommendations for enhancing its market position. This study employs a qualitative approach to assess the competitive advantage of BSF-based animal feed using a VRIO framework. By analyzing the product's value, rarity, imitability, and organization, the research seeks to contribute to the understanding of this emerging market. BSF maggot-based feed presents a sustainable solution for the livestock industry. Offering high nutritional value and improved animal performance, BSF feed has the potential to disrupt traditional feed sources. Yet, challenges like production complexities and financial investments need to be addressed. To fully realize BSF's potential, ongoing research, efficient distribution, and strategic collaborations are vital. A VRIO analysis reveals the promising potential of BSF-based animal feed. Its unique value proposition, including improved productivity and product quality, provides a strong competitive advantage. However, continuous improvement, organizational strengthening, and strategic partnerships are crucial for sustained success. BSF feed offers a sustainable solution to meet the growing demand for animal protein.
